Yorkeys Project, Queensland
(GOLDSEARCH 100%)
The project comprises three mining leases (MLs 50098, 50153 and 3759) and granted exploration permit EPM 15850 covering approximately 50 square kilometres in the Kilkivan/Gympie gold district of south-east Queensland. The leases are prospective for intrusive related and epithermal gold mineralisation in extensions and parallel structures to the zones of previous mining.
Goldsearch is currently seeking expressions of interest in this project from prospective joint venture partners.
Previous exploration by Poseidon Ltd at the Beer and Dawson Prospect (ML 3759) reported drilling results up to 2 metres at 22.9 grams per tonne gold. This high-grade mineralisation in hornfelsed sediments was tested by one hole during the 2004 reverse circulation (RC) drilling program returning 2 metres at 8.6 grams per tonne gold and 77 grams per tonne silver in hole Y009. The zone of prospecting pits and anomalous gold in soils at surface extends over 220 metres at Beer & Dawson a diamond drill hole drilled in June 2005 to provide structural alteration zoning and petrological data intersected the silica-sericite-sulphide altered breccia zone reporting 2 metres at 2.4 grams per tonne gold.
The Beer and Dawson prospect is spatially associated with the regionally significant Beer and Dawson shear zone. Goldsearch believes this structure also represents an attractive exploration target which has not been adequately tested by previous explorers.
